Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, seeks an experienced Technical Lead for their Interconnects team. As the Lead Design Engineer, you will manage cable and harness work packages, deliver custom cable designs, and ensure high-quality, timely solutions. This opportunity is perfect for someone with strong technical skills and abilities.

As a Technical Lead, you'll plan and budget workloads, design reviews and documentation, and collaborate with multiple departments and external suppliers. You'll also need to tackle challenges and opportunities as an individual and as part of a team.

What we're looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing work packages.
  • Proven experience in designing Interconnects, Cables, and Harnesses.
  • An appreciation of the Interconnect manufacturing process
  • Proactive and motivated individual who can balance cost, quality, and schedule while considering Design for Manufacture and Design for Test.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of product life cycle, military defence standards, and cable harness manufacture (IPC-WHMA-A-620C), but it is not essential.

More about the role:

For more than 70 years, our client has been in a strong partnership with the UK military. They have accomplished numerous milestones in defence engineering and have provided essential defence capabilities to meet the requirements of the armed forces across land, sea, and air.

This role is based at their headquarters site in Stevenage which plays a key part in missiles operations. The site also offers excellent transportation links and boasts an onsite gym and coffee shop. Training and development are offered to all employees.
