Consultancy / Mechanical Design Engineer / Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer / MEP / Building Services Design Engineer

This role is to join a consultancy working on projects throughout the UK and Europe, you will be part of team of engineers designing innovative and creative low energy solutions, that are sympathetic to the end users and architectural designs.  You will feel welcomed into this energetic and enthusiastic team from day one.

This consultancy specialise in commercial projects and office fit outs and as specialists they take their designs to the next level of detail resulting in a reduction of many issues around coordination and project cost.

You will benefit from working closely with senior engineers and directors to further develop your skills as an engineer.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a design team delivering detailed design
  • Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors.
  • Attending a range of project group and technical meetings
  • Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements
  • Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint
  • Designing site-specific equipment as required
  • Overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures
  • Using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project
  • Carrying out condition surveys and providing recommendation reports to clients

Experience and Skills Required

  • Ideally you will have a degree in a relevant subject for example mechanical engineering or an accredited building services degree.
  • A Minimum of 2 years building services design experience.
  • Experience of IES.
  • An excellent communicator.
  • An enthusiasm to develop.
