£40,000 - £45,000/annum + 7k car allowance and Annual Bonus

Job Description:

The client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Manager to join the team. As a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the contracts, ensuring their successful execution from initiation to completion. You will play a crucial role in maintaining positive client relationships, managing project budgets, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.

Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of contracts, from negotiation and execution to closeout. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, including scope of work, deliverables, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the duration of contracts. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Project Oversight: Provide oversight and direction to project teams to ensure successful project delivery. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial targets. Work closely with finance teams to accurately forecast project costs and revenue.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favourable terms and conditions. Ensure that contracts are fair, equitable, and in the best interest of the company.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize exposure and protect the company's interests. Proactively address any issues or challenges that may arise during contract execution.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to contract activities, audits, and reviews.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to contract management teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Background required (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • NVQ or City and Guilds or any relevant qualifications for this role .
  • Proven experience in contract management, in the engineering industry.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, negotiations, and risk management principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification in Contract Management (e.g., CPCM, CFCM) is a plus.
