Responsible for
Ensuring the coating department meets site requirements at all times whilst adhering to site H&S requirements and items produced meet customer specification

Our client is a global supplier of complex machined investment castings, in aluminium, steel, and vacuum melted super alloys supporting a multitude of industries with a large variety of client specific machined products

KEY INFORMATION

Reason for vacancy - Increased demand

Contract - Temp to perm

Basic pay - £11.51ph

Shifts - 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8am - 4:30pm, Fridays 8am - 3.30pm, OR Monday to Thursday 6am - 2.30pm, Fridays 6am - 1.30pm (candidates choice which shift you chose, they do not rotate, you stay on the selected shift indefinatly)

Overtime - 1.5x basic rate 

Holidays - 25 days + Bank Holidays

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role
Our client is looking for Machine Operators to join their busy team in Barnstaple on full time, temporary to permanent contracts. Full training is provided for this position, the day to day responsibilities as a Machine Operator are as follows –

• · To ensure Health and Safety requirements are met at all times.
• · Inject wax using appropriate machinery and control procedures to company specific standards.
• · To contribute to the efficient operation of the department, ensuring product is produced to deadlines, and to quality and cost requirements, in a safe manner.
• · Leaching parts using citric acid solution, whilst avoiding damage and ensuring all soluble is removed, assessing condition of leaching tanks and replenishing in accordance to work instructions.
• · To keep the work area and machinery clean and tidy.
• · To provide flexibility and assist in other areas of the business as required.
• · Maintain timescales according to job cards.
• · Ensure that work routing is strictly adhered to, to ensure that deviations are agreed, and exceptions followed.
• · Quality check parts ready for onward processes to ensure they meet the customers standards and specifications.
• · Adopt and maintain LEAN initiatives within the business and cell

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

• · Ability to interpret measurements and standards set for tooling machinery and wax patterns.
• · Proven manual dexterity skills in handling intricate fragile parts.
• · Ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet business needs, working as part of a team and also as an individual.
• · Ability to work and conform to set procedures.
• · Attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
