Our client is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join their Civils Team during a period of exciting growth and expansion. General Requirements and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural / Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Progress towards or attainment of IEng/CEng/IStructE accreditation.
  • Wide-ranging experience in the field.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship and support for the development of the Civils/Structural Team.
  • Oversee the management and production of technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Develop engineering solutions and present various options to stakeholders.
  • Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting for projects.
  • Offer technical insights for pricing project briefs, proposals, and deliverables.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge, including proficiency in industry-standard road and/or drainage design software and familiarity with current design standards.
  • Focus on areas such as highways, access roads, and temporary/enabling works design, undertaking due diligence, feasibility studies, conceptual optioneering, detailed design, and construction oversight.
  • Implement road design conforming to 'National Road Development Guide' and Local Authority Standards, ensuring compliance with appropriate Technical Approvals including RCC and S56.
  • Produce necessary technical reports and obtain statutory approvals from entities such as Scottish Water and SEPA.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential, with experience in Microdrainage considered advantageous.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of the 'Design Manual for Roads and Bridges' (DMRB).
  • Work collaboratively within a team of seasoned professionals, maintaining high standards of written and oral communication.
