My client has an opportunity for a results driven Business Development Manager to join the senior team. The Business Development Manager must be prepared to invest the time, effort and commitment into building a career within the business. You will focus on the introduction and development of new business opportunities within the company's sales team, detailed below. Have overall responsibility for managing the day to day activities within the assigned territory and product ranges, to generate the required level of sales turnover and profitability for the Company.

Ideally you will have a background in food processing capital equipment sales or project management. Your experience and success in these areas should enable you to manage all aspects of this role and you must demonstrate a strategic approach to growing sales of this range of equipment in the UK and Ireland.

Although the role will be highly autonomous, you will report directly to the Sales Director.

Our intention is to provide excellent levels of support for our existing customers and maximize all opportunities for repeat business. In addition, we need to generate new sales revenue from previously untapped sources and ensure that we are promoting our full range of products and services to all potential users

You will be required to update the companies CRM system and provide weekly and monthly sales reports and feedback to the Sales Director

Specific Business Development Manager responsibilities include:

  • Market research.
  • Telephone prospecting.
  • Customer visits and meetings.
  • Achieve required levels of customers visits on a weekly basis.
  • Manage time and resources to achieve required sales and profitability targets.
  • Setting up and over seeing customer trials.
  • Sending sales intro letters and literature packs.
  • Writing and sending targeted area mail shots (letters and e-mails), including telephone follow ups.
  • Liaising with suppliers about specific projects.
  • Learning about equipment range and suppliers.
  • Promoting the full product range to your customers and prospects.
  • Assist with machine installations.

Business Development Manager Structure and Objectives:

  • Establish yourself in the role and be the company's “go to” person for all sales issues relating to this supplier
  • Build strong working relationships with the supplier
  • Build strong working relationships with 3rd party suppliers / specifiers
  • Promote all other products and equipment to your customers and prospects
  • Work with the Company owners to develop a strategy to grow this further over the next 3 to 5 years

The Package:

A competitive salary of circa 35K - 40K per annum plus commission and a company bonus with a realistic OTE of 45K - 50K per annum plus a company car or car allowance.
