We are working with an established end-of-line robotic packing and palletising automation systems company based in Hampshire, UK. They are recruiting for a Controls Engineer to join their team. In return for a salary in the region £35.000 - £60.000 along with excellent employment benefits.

You will be developing existing code, creating new programs, writing and installing custom programmable logic code, testing system efficiency, traveling to clients' locations for commission of machines or for service, analysing system requirements, and providing operational support.

The successful PLC programmer/ Controls Engineer will have a substantial experience with and excellent knowledge of PLCs, a logical approach to problem solving, documentation skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities include:

· PLC code creation, debug and/ or development.

· Create and implement safety logic using safety PLCs

· Participate in FDS (Functional Description Specification) creation.

· Create documentation to demonstrate how processes will work.

· Design machine automation test criteria before installation.

· Design and document testing systems for debugging, safety, and reliability.

· Troubleshooting system errors.

· Overseeing the successful installation of PLC and Robot programs.

· Traveling to clients' locations, meeting with clients to discuss their mechanical or

electrical automation needs and/ or providing clients with technical support.

· Documenting development processes.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in software engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical

engineering, or a similar field.

· Detailed knowledge of PLC automation software and coding languages.

· At least 3 years’ experience as a PLC programmer/ Controls Engineer.

· PLC technical certification preferred.

· Experience with Robotics (Fanuc preferred).

· Experience in the automation industry.

· In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and control processes.

· Knowledge of software design principals.

· Knowledge of Fanuc programming: TP and Karel

· Knowledge of IT: Servers and Workstations configuration

· Knowledge of IT programming languages: C#, VB

· Ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Driving licence and ability to travel when required.
