My Client is recruiting for a Project Engineer in the Water Sector

The Company provides engineering service and process technologies to the water and wastewater, utilities, food and beverage, power, and industrial process industries. The Project Engineer will work with and assist Project Managers in the successful delivery of projects. Take day to day responsibility for and delivery of projects up to a value of £250,000.

Typical duties and accountabilities include;

  • Material take off's from fabrication drawings, site GA's, valve & instrument schedules and standard specifications.
  • Responsible for tendering packages, obtaining quotation and raising Purchase Orders for items with suppliers as for project expenditure as required by Project Managers.
  • To visit sites as required to assess job requirements.
  • Assist Project Managers in preparation of H&S documentation including but not limited to the following;
    • Risk Assessments / Method Statements,
    • Construction Phase Plans,
    • Traffic Management Plans,
    • Site H&S files,
    • Permits to Work,
    • HASWA compliance
    • CDM compliance,
  • Ensuring all project records are up to date and available within project files.
  • Following up the order status for delivering material to the site to support the production schedule, manufacturing lead times and site activities.
  • Developing a detailed working knowledge of all standard products.
  • Support commercial manager with forecasting and contract administration.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a mechanical engineering / workshop environment.
  • Engineering qualification HND/HNC/Degree or similar
  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, site GA's, valve & instrument schedules and standard specifications.
  • Water Industry experience
  • Strong negotiation skills and strategic approach in managing national and local suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently, display initiative and solve problems with proficiency
