Senior Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our established client based in Farnborough. The successful candidate will contribute to the company’s success by providing Manufacturing Engineering development and production support to the Operations Department. The role will also require development of current manufacturing processes, procedures, tooling and equipment for production and repair of all equipment repaired in the UK. The role will also involve design/development of new processes and procedures for new products working to tight timescales and budgets.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer responsibilities:

• Ensure design of assemble/test cells are efficient to maximise productivity and minimise waste
• Ensure all Work Instructions are available, and staff are correctly trained maintaining a training matrix to demonstrate this
• Provide technical support and ensure optimum producibility of products entering production, including contributions at design reviews, approval of design changes
• Ensure all tooling and assembly fixtures are available and within calibration
• Develop, adapt, and institutionalise advanced process improvement tools to carry out assignments most effectively and meet objectives
• Coordinate manufacturing plans for all hardware in conjunction with production planning and control resource
• As authorized, interface with the customer, suppliers, or other external parties on technical issues that impact manufacturing. Will be called upon to assist in solving complex production problems in his/her area of expertise with both customers and suppliers
• Direct and coordinate building or modification of complex equipment to ensure conformance with engineering design, involving detailed Work Instructions

Senior Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications Experience:

• Requires strong knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline
• May have broad knowledge of project management
• Must have proven experience in Lean Manufacturing 
• HNC/HND minimum but ideally degree qualified
