Head of Projects – Mechanical and Electrical

We're currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our client’s team as the Head of Projects across a portfolio of buildings in London.

You will need to have a background in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services, as the majority of projects will be mechanical or electrical systems / building services plant upgrades, building refurbishments and energy related decarbonisation projects.

As the Head of Projects, you'll be responsible for leading and managing a team of Project Managers in all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of projects while achieving the desired outcomes and meeting client expectations.

As the Head of Projects, you will:

- Lead and oversee the entire project lifecycle, from cradle to grave.

- Develop and implement project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.

- Allocate resources effectively to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.

- Full profit and loss responsibility for the division.

- Monitor the progress of your projects, identify any risk and create an appropriate strategy to reduce the exposure to risks

- Ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.

- Ensure adherence to project budgets and financial targets.

- Lead regular project’s status meetings and provide timely updates to senior management.

- Manage client relationships, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project.

- Manage divisions forecast

- Maximise profit through cost reductions and better buying of subcontractor services.

Requirements

- Proven experience safely delivering exceptional Mechanical, Electrical and Fabric projects in either an FM or construction environment.

- Proven track record of running a P&L

- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Detail-oriented mindset and ability to maintain high-quality standards.

- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
