Mechanical Design Engineer,
Cambridgeshire, £45-60k + excellent benefits and a possibility of good relocation package.
We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for a highly successful Cambridge Company. This is a job for a bright Engineer with a background in the mechanical design who will develop innovative ‘real world’ products – often incorporating novel and disruptive technologies that transform the market. As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be making a direct contribution to advanced technology and engineering design for the development of new products, focusing on analysis, computational modelling, prototype design, invention, laboratory testing, process development, and manufacturing.
You will have a superb working environment at the company`s state-of-the-art facility in Cambridgeshire as well as potential excellent career development opportunities.
Due to the nature of the work the successful candidate will need to satisfy security clearance requirements, this role is not eligible for UKVI sponsorship visa scheme.
Requirements
A 1st class or Upper 2nd BEng/MEng degree from a leading university in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
A very strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including analytical, theoretical, experimental and creative capabilities.
Experience with a 3D CAD package (preferable Solidworks), design for manufacturing, welding and fabrication design, thermal simulation or thermal modelling.
A track record of creating insight that sets the direction in research, design, technology or advanced product development projects, an understanding of PDM (Product Data Manager).
A strong ability to communicate the value of your work confidently and authoritatively to senior business leaders across client organisations.
Experience of leading novel mechanical device development projects would be an advantage –we are happy to consider applicants at varying levels of seniority ranging from Engineer to Project Leader.
Extensive background in 3D CAD (ideally including Solidworks)
