Job title: Section Engineer 

Location: West Midlands - CV7 

Contract length: 3 Month Rolling Contract 

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday from 7am - 18.00pm depending on workload 

(must be flexible on working hours and occasional weekend work over the Summer period)
 

Balfour Beatty, an International Infrastructure group is currently recruiting for 2 x Section Engineers to join the team in the West Midlands, to start immediately. The working hours will be between 7am - 18.00pm and candidates must be flexible within this time frame. The shifts will be mainly on a Monday - Friday basis with the occasional weekend work over the Summer period. The contract will be on a 3 Month rolling contract. 

The successful Section Engineers will join the Team in the West Midlands area of CV7. You will be an expert in Bulk Earthworks. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on an exciting and fast paced project. 

Responsibilities of the Section Engineers: 

• Competent in producing all site administration including Risk Assessments,

Method Statements, ITPs, RFIs and early warnings

• Monitoring, updating, forecasting and implementing the programme

• Design management and interpretation

• Interpreting and implementing of the construction process and procedure

• Manage Site Engineers and their duties including Setting out of the works and As built drawings

• Monitoring and management of the nominated subcontractors

• Reporting on progress

• Ensuring health and safety is at the forefront of all activity 

• Liaising with designers 

• Actioning Early warning Risk Assessments

• Attending weekly subcontractor meetings 

• Implementation of a Sub contract model 

• QA process - relevant check sheets as you go 

• Delivery experience 

• Adhere to briefing policy onsite and lead by example 

• Near miss/ good practise ambassador 

 Key Skills / Experience Required for the Section Engineers:

• Previous experience completing similar projects for a tier one principal Contractor is preferred

• Degree/Diploma in Civils Engineering

• Proven recent delivery experience 

• Excellent management and motivational skills

• Commercially aware, knowledgeable on regulations

• Additional certification advantageous like TWC, AP, CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid

• Health and Safety Trained

• Bulk Earthworks experience (embankments, stabilization, drainage, surfacing )

• Additional experience is desirable such as, Exposure to pilot operations, GPS Station, Precast/ Structure works
