Our Client are a National Independent Connection Provider (ICP) with offices across the UK.

Their services include the development and construction of new grid connections, customer substations, private networks and operation of existing infrastructure within the electrical power industry.

Excellent opportunity for an ambitious, experinced HV Cable Jointer to join the team!

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of high voltage cable systems.

The role involves working with cables ranging from 11kV to 33kV and requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, safety protocols, and the ability to resolve issues efficiently.

The company office and workshop are based in Bristol, but the role will primarily involve site work at various locations across the country.

Duties and responsibilities

Installation, termination and jointing of high voltage cables, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

Conduct regular maintenance and respond promptly to any cable faults.

Identify and diagnose issues in HV cable systems.

Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and the team.

Maintain accurate records of cable installations, repairs and maintenance activities.

Work closely with Project Engineers and wider team to coordinate projects in line with delivery timescales.

GCSE’s or equivalent.

Proven experience as a High Voltage Cable Jointer, with good understanding of high voltage systems, cable jointing techniques and safety procedures.

Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Excellent teamwork skills. The following additional qualifications and skills will be beneficial for the role:

Certification or diploma in electrical engineering or related field.

Knowledge of electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear and substation equipment.

Strong commitment to safety practices.
