Commissioning Engineer- SC Cleared -  Mechanical Biased- Contract- Outside Of Scope of IR35

Due to rapid and continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Manager to join a leading Engineering organisation specialising in the delivery of consultancy services, engineering solutions and site operations support, to some of the UK’s leading Defence contractors. 

The organisation has a longstanding reputation delivering work programmes across the nuclear industry, traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, and have expanded into providing a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to refurbishment, site installation services and decommissioning works.

The Commissioning Manager with a mechanical biased will be responsible for commissioning activities throughout the business across multiple projects and frameworks, ensuring that all projects are suitably resourced with SQEP commissioning engineers while providing the technical/ procedural governance to all commissioning activities and associated documentation. Reporting directly to the Commissioning Manager and Project Managers, the successful candidate will be accountable for producing or overseeing project and engineering deliverables in line with the project program and technical specifications.

Additionally, the Commissioning Manager shall possess the capability to produce or oversee commissioning deliverables as required.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Experience in onsite commissioning activities in a regulated industry
  • A track record in stakeholder and team management
  • A Detailed understanding of commissioning process
  • Specialise in each stage of commissioning, including FAT, Setting to Work, Site Acceptance, Inactive, and Handover.
  • Generate documentation for each stage of commissioning and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee commissioning activities, including witnessing and raising fault observations as needed.
  • Read and interpret design documentation to ensure alignment with commissioning requirements.
  • Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting to resolve issues during commissioning activities.

The ability to obtain SC Clearance and the ability to work from site 2 days per week is essential.
