MPI is looking for a Trainee Electrical Project Engineer for our client based in St. Albans

Contract: Temp to Perm

Salary:  £25000 / Annum

Working hours : Monday to Friday, 37.5h

The Company is a manufacturer of low voltage switchgear. This position would be based at the Company premises located in St. Albans, Hertfordshire.

The ideal candidate should be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel, and express his interest in building a career in the Electrical Industry and spending time on the shop floor.  The position will cover a variety of tasks and the successful applicant will need to be flexible in their approach to work.

Some experience would also be beneficial in reading electrical schematic diagrams. Ability to use AutoCAD, knowledge of MV, LV switchgear would be an advantage.

The main role with this position include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Provide administrative support to the Company Directors.
  • Provide administrative support to the Company Electrical Project Engineers.
  • Assist in the ordering of materials.
  • Compiling information and document gathering.
  • Liaise with the Company’s draughting engineers and production team.
  • Attend site meetings

Desirable:

An electrical engineering background

Ability to use AutoCAD

NVQ, ONC or City and Guilts

Training and support will be provided but the successful candidate will be expected to learn as they develop into the role.
