Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer

Salary £38,000 - £45,000

Adept are pleased to be working with leading food manufacturers in South Wales. We are seeking an Electrical biased Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the Engineering Manager, contributing to the smooth operation of tool changing operations within their manufacturing environment.

**Responsibilities: **

1. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures, utilizing Standard Work Practices (SWPs) for task completion.

2. Control and manage tools and fixings to prevent foreign body ingress into products.

3. Maintain toolbox inventory, ensuring compliance with audit criteria, including the exclusion of wooden tools and ensuring all tools are in good repair.

4. Work safely and independently to fulfil allocated tasks on a shift-by-shift basis.

5. Setup and operate production equipment following current good manufacturing practices and SWPs.

6. Efficiently set up key production equipment, maintaining records of optimal settings for maximum efficiency.

7. Assist in changeovers while prioritizing safety.

8. Address non-conformances identified in audits and effect repairs as needed.

9. Develop and implement plans for missing screw/bolt replacements.

10. Assist in rectifying issues on the production line, including replacement of flights on chain belts, film reel changes, head seal changes, cutter blade replacements, and line changeovers.

11. Conduct routine inspections of seals, blades, and sealing heads, replacing components as required.

12. Report all material usages to engineering procurement to ensure adequate spare supply.

13. Collaborate as a team member across functions, contributing positively to problem-solving efforts.

14. Identify problems and implement solutions using appropriate techniques, taking personal responsibility to ensure resolution.

15. Think creatively to deliver solutions while prioritizing personal and colleague safety.

16. Implement design enhancements to meet customer requests and business targets, demonstrating planning and organizational skills.

17. Support, develop, and encourage team members.

18. Strive for personal improvement through feedback and coaching.

19. Actively pursue opportunities for up-skilling and professional development.

**Qualifications: **

- NVQ Level 3

- Demonstrated experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail / Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
