White Label Recruitment is working exclusively with an engineering/manufacturing business in Newcastle that requires a Senior Industrial Designer to join their team.
The Senior Industrial Designer plays a pivotal role in our Design & Development team, responsible for designing innovative products across a diverse product portfolio, to meet consumer, use, and Brand needs.
This is an exciting opportunity where you will be involved in developing new products as a market leader. You will have the satisfaction of seeing your designs make it to the shelves.
My client offers hybrid working for this position so there is only a requirement to be at the offices once per week. The cost of travel is covered by the client.

Responsibilities of the Senior Industrial Designer
- Focus on customer needs to provide product fit for purpose and relevant to briefings set. Gain information from relevant teams and resource to support design and development proposals.
- Inspiration trips and relevant trade fairs to aid the research.
- Be proactive about keeping up to date with competitor information and market trends.
- Create innovation products or design in line with brand identity.
- Produce a range of solutions to problems and questions and filter ideas.
- Problem solves by sketching, CAD, prototype building, testing assessing.
- Produce CAD to communicate design intent (Functional and Aesthetic).
- Responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and evolving the product range.
- Be key in the implication of Ergonomics and Anthropometrics.
- Make models, rigs, FDM parts and build prototypes to communicate ideas and test theories.
Essential experience of the Senior Industrial Designer
- 8 years or more experience in Product or Industrial Design.
- 3D CAD experience.
- Proficient Sketcher.
Desirable experience
- Experience in consumer goods/electro-mechanical/plastic products.
Benefits/Package
- A salary of £45,000 - £47,000.
- 37.5 hours per week with flexibility between home and office working.
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
- Pension up to 7.5%
