We are looking for a confident Engineering Shift Manager to join the growing team at our clients fast paced and highly automated distribution centre on the outskirts of Mansfield.
Working closely with the Engineering Manager you will need to not only be a strong communicator but also organised as you will be leading a team of around 15 made up of Automation Engineers and Technical Operators.
You will be responsible for ensuring the schedule of planned maintenance is completed and that high standards are upheld at all times to maintain the reliability and stability of the MHE, and that breakdowns are prioritised to limit down time.
This is a position that offers variation supporting the senior team and leading the engineering team from the front providing technical and hands on support.

Key Responsibilities for an Engineer Shift Manager
- Attend handover meetings with the wider senior engineering team.
- Planning and organising of the Engineering Team delegating the schedule of planned maintenance.
- Fault finding and maintenance of automated MHE including conveyors, shuttles, totes and robotics.
- Respond to breakdowns.
- Mentoring and leading the team.
- Strong Attention to detail.
- Management of system and equipment incidents.
- Manage spare parts and Monitoring inventory and usage.
- Strong understanding of control systems including WMS, SCADA.
- Ensure the team are working within the H&S guidelines at all times.
- Apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering NVQ Level 3
- Experience with leadership within Automation
- Experience with Automated MHE.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic knowledge
- Experience with engineering stores and CMMS systems
- Good understanding of Microsoft office
- HNC/HND would also be desirable.
- Salary up to £60,000 DOE
- 4 on 4 off
