Job Title: Senior Security Systems Engineer
Responsible to: Contracts Lead

Role Purpose:

As a senior security systems engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation, repair and maintenance of security systems and processes with our organisation. Their main role is to protect our organisations assets, including its people, information, and technology, from unauthorised access, theft, damage, or misuse.

As a senior security systems engineer, you will undertake the responsibility for assessing the security risks that an organisation faces and then develop and implement appropriate security measures to mitigate those risks. You will need to stay up to date with the latest threats and vulnerabilities to continuously improve the security posture of the organisation and its clients.

Collaborating with your contract lead, team and stakeholders within the organisation to ensure that security is integrated into all aspects of the organisation’s operations.
 
Main responsibilities of the role:

You will maintain security systems, fault find and rectify along with being capable of installation to NSI gold standard for all security devices, such as and not limited to CCTV, access control, Intercoms, and intruder alarms, being competent to provide support to team members.

You will assist with the installation of equipment, surveying, and commissioning sites, ensuring you liaise with your contract lead.

You will attend customer’s sites on pre-planned PM visits arranged by the admin support team.

You will be responsible for running small/medium and large projects.

Respond to customer call outs.

To evaluate and resolve problems using your own initiative and seeking advice as and when required.

To carry out all audits, site surveys and quotes. Along with completing vehicle/ladder checks and installation/reactive auditing.
 
To attend client meetings.

To complete NSI audits to NSI Gold standards.

To carry out internal audits for Vehicles/Equipment and Service/Reactive completed works.

To provide correct technical reports of completed actions on visits via SimPRO and get those actions signed off by the customer on site, liaising with the admin support team at the same time.

Provide advice and guidance to customers on correct maintenance and operations of their equipment.

Adhere to the customer’s health and safety site requirements on all visits, report attendance to site security and facilities team where appropriate. This is to include gathering information to complete RAMS.

Complete all paperwork (including timesheets and expenses) to specified standards and submit by stated deadline.
 
To provide technical advice to your team and to lead one-to-one workshops/group workshops where necessary.
 
To mentor trainees, this includes their appraisals and any monthly reviews, linking in with the contract lead where necessary.

Perform any other duties that may be assigned on a need basis.

Experience/Qualifications

• Excellent IT skills.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience running small/medium and large projects.
• Willing and capable of attending and rectifying jobs that involves equipment that you may not recognise or be competent in using.
• NSI Product Auditing Certification.
• Passed ECS Health and Safety Assessment.
• Relevant security industry product and manufacture training qualifications/courses.
• IPAF qualified.
• Personal Track Safety (PTS) for rail positions only.
