We are working closely with a leading equipment manufacturer, part of a French group, who are looking to add a Service Engineer into the Service team.
Role
The role is predominantly Mechanical, however any Electrical skills would be a bonus. Day to day you will be out on the road across the UK to their customer sites which is mainly FMCG factories. The work will be planned by the Service Manager and will be a high % of planned maintenance verses breakdowns so there will be advanced notice in relation to where you are scheduled to travel within the UK.
The first few months will be a lot of shadowing out on the road to understand the equipment, then as your experience builds, when you are ready you will typically attend customers sites on your own, some jobs may require 2 people.
They give a lot of autonomy and trust so are looking for someone who can fit into their team from that perspective and have flexibility on how expenses are paid.
Qualifications and Skills
You will receive a base salary of up to £38k, alongside this you will get a vehicle (just for work or choice for personal use as well), 6% matched pension, overtime pay, you can expect to get an overall of circa £43/44k.

Qualifications and Skills
- ONC/HNC in Engineering, apprentice trained
- 1+ years experience post qualifications - some experience as a Service Engineer maintaining industrial equipment systems
- Background in the Military e.g RAF, Navy, could be a relevant fit
- Experience with the likes of - pumps, motors, valves, filtration, hydraulics, extraction
- Professional approach with customers
- Confident to go to sites on your own, speaking to operators through to stakeholder level
- Have pride in your work, clean/tidy up after yourself
- Flexible for staying away typically around one night per week
- Needs to be situated within 1hr30 of their base in Stockport
