Global CTS are recruiting for an Electronics Design Engineer to join a small business at an exciting time. The ideal candidate will have an Electronics degree and would have done a minimum of two years design work within a company since relevant design education. As an Electronics Design Engineer you'll gain exposure to a number of different industries and regularly collaborate with external clients, finding unique solutions, juggling multiple projects at differing stages concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Communicating with customers and establishing their needs in the form of thorough technical specifications. This will sometimes require visits to customers
• Designing, building (where necessary) and testing electronic circuits to meet the needs of the technical specification
• Communicating with customers regarding the detail of projects and resolving issues
• Compiling design specifications (documentation necessary for production)
• Liaison with CAD PCB layout personnel to ensure PCB layout matches design specification
• Dealing with all manufacturing issues and troubleshooting
• Verification and validation of completed products including trials with customers
• Cutting, strapping and modification as necessary to overcome design issues
• Completing design files such that design is fully transportable and sustainable
• Taking part in design reviews



Key Skills and Attributes

• Electronics degree/ BTEC
• Practical skills such as soldering ability would be an advantage although training will be given
• Articulate 
• Good communication skills with people of all levels
• IT skills including including design software experience such as: CAD, Altium, Cadence
• Dealing with difficult scenarios
• Schematics
• Experience with embedded programming
• Multitasking
• Scientific tests and resolutions
• Hardware design, write firmware and coding skills desirable
• Commercial monetary awareness
