Job Title: Highways Site Manager
Salary: Up to £53,000 plus van provided
Location: Leeds (Area 12)
 
Role:
The Site Manager plays a pivotal role in my client's project delivery, ensuring adherence to schedules, costs, and quality standards. Responsible for the day-to-day operations, they collaborate with the Contract Manager to meet client deadlines while mitigating risks.
 
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
 
- Assisting Project Managers in assembling scheme as-built information.
- Ensuring all work aligns with specified standards and complies with CDM 2015 regulations.
- Conducting and documenting weekly Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) inspections.
- Implementing necessary method statements, risk assessments, and permits.
- Delivering start-of-shift briefings, including Toolbox Talks and Safety Briefings.
- Ensuring the fitness-for-purpose and daily inspection of all on-site plant, machinery, and equipment.
- Keeping Project/Contract Managers informed of any changes to the project scope.
- Providing mentorship and support to new team members.
- Maintaining comprehensive Daily Diaries, detailing resource usage, site conditions, progress, and incidents or issues.
- Ensuring on-site resource levels, particularly materials, are adequately maintained.
 
Person Specification:
 
- Proven experience in Site Management within Highways/Civil Engineering.
- Comprehensive understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
- Holder of a CSCS Supervisor (Gold) Card.
- Possession of SMSTS certification.
