An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Public Rights of Way Officer to come and join a busy client in the Manchester area.

The main duties and responsibilities of the Public Rights of Way Officer are:

• Knowledge about the legal aspects of public rights of way (PRoW)
• Responsible for assessing the condition of the Public Rights of Way network to ensure it is maintained to a standard acceptable to the Highway Authority, liaising with landowners or occupiers to ensure they carry out their legal responsibilities.
• Responsible for raising defects using data capture devices and creating job packs in line with CDM Regs to enable the delivery teams to plan and prioritise work accordingly
• Develop, maintain and update records and management systems
• Act as expert witness representing the Council at Public Inquiries
• Deal with general enquiries and provide technical and professional advice in respect of green space and rights of way issues
• Knowledge of how to operate a GIS based system
