Job Title: Highways SHE Advisor
Location: Staverton, Trowbridge (Project Office)
Salary: Up to £45,000
 
Join my client's dynamic team championing safety excellence in projects across Exeter, Somerset, Plymouth, and Cornwall, particularly in the National Highways Area 2.
 
Responsibilities:
 
- Drive proactive safety behaviours through education and communication.
- Collaborate with teams, clients, and the supply chain for sustainable improvements.
- Develop safe systems of work and comprehensive toolbox talks.
- Monitor compliance and report on Business Management System performance.
- Conduct site inspections and lead investigations of accidents and incidents.
- Analyse SHE performance trends and implement improvement measures.
- Maintain professional engagement and communication with internal and client counterparts.
- Promote SHE programs and industry innovations.

Requirements:
 
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role within Highways Civil Engineering
- Experience with management systems, policies, and procedures.
- Proficient in leading investigations and report writing.
- Good knowledge of SHE best practices.
- Strong influencing and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage operational constraints and legislative standards.
- Commitment to equality and diversity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- NEBOSH Certificate, Environmental Awareness Training, Investigation Training, CSCS Card, and Full Driving Licence required.
- Auditor Training and IEMA Qualification desirable.
