Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Salary: up to 65k DOE

Hours- Mon-Fri- 9-5:30 inc lunch break 1 hour 


A new position to help extend and develop our range of electronic products. Candidates should be qualified to BSc/BEng level in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications or similar and have at least 5 years industrial experience in practical electronic circuit design of measurement, control, analogue, digital and embedded microcontrollers. Programming with the STM8, STM32 or similar family of processors is necessary. Design experience in data interfaces, GSM, CAT-M, BLE, data logging, IoT, SMPS and power electronics will be an advantage. Programming in embedded C is essential. To be successful you will need experience in starting a project from the ground up, specification capture, researching innovative solutions, schematic design, PCB layout, algorithm definition, microcontroller programming environments, electronic testing, generating clear documentation. You will also need good problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude, good communication and good time management skills. You should be readily able to travel overseas from time to time on company business (typically once or twice a year).



All candidates should be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in small teams. They should be keenly aware of the need of an industrial company to produce reliable products, to specification, on time and within defined cost constraints. The engineer will have the benefit of seeing a product from initial specification, through design, testing and into production. They will need to be flexible in the tasks they undertake and will report to the Chief Electronics Engineer.



You will work on our existing products and on new designs, alongside existing team members. We have a 20 strong multi-disciplinary R&D teams with skills to cover all aspect of design. A friendly atmosphere with great mutual support in the team and the company. We have a range of design, simulation and validation software and equipment which you will be trained on as appropriate. Designs range from uW battery powered trackers for the cold drinks industry to MW three-phase power regulators for UK wind farms.
