Our client is looking for a for an ROV Operations Graduate Engineer for a contract position, located in Aberdeen. Please note: After a scheduled training period, this role will become Hybrid working, with the opportunity to work 3 Days in office / 2 Days at home.

ROLE

We have a new requirement for a ROV Operations/Graduate Engineer within our Aberdeen office.  This role offers a unique blend of professional growth and personal development within a locally well-known Company. This position will provide hands on experience, allowing you to work on exciting projects. RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will encompass supporting multiple ongoing projects, and General ROV Operations.  The main responsibilities/training will include:    

  • ROV Department Standard Operating Procedures/Documentation Review.
  • Introduction to ROV Systems & ROV Simulator experience (By one of our in house dedicated ROV Trainers), to give a broad overview of our ROVs/equipment.
  •  Assigned to and mentored by multiple Senior Engineers, who will provide one to one support – and to assist manage daily activities.
  • Provide an overview and involvement in each element within ROV Ops/Engineering role and set tasks/goals accordingly.  This will include:
  • ROV Methods Engineering, and Day to Day support
  • ROV Structural Engineering
  • ROV Tooling Design
  • Assistance towards ROV Project Managers 
    • An opportunity to spend approx. 4 weeks offshore onboard a ROV worksite, on minimum 2 separate rotations per year. We will ensure the following is also included:
    • All necessary/mandatory Basic Training (Medical/FOET, Hydraulic & Electrical/General online safety courses)   
    • Assigned to ROV Worksite with 2 x ROV & nominal 13 x Crew, to be used as an ‘Assistant’ to the ROV Supt/ROV Team.
    • Assist with the preparation of Worksite specific Documentation/Task plans & JSA/Risk assessments.   
    • Any General worksite duties as deemed suitable by the ROV Supt.

With the above outline plan we are planning to invest time and effort in providing the suitable candidate with a broad wealth of knowledge and experience, to enable them to grow and develop into a valuable asset for the company and provides a career path toward becoming a strong ROV Operational Support Engineer/ Project Engineer, with the option to specialize within the ROV Operations/Methods/Structural or Tooling design fields within the company.

REQUIREMENTS

 

Education / Qualifications:

  • Graduate with University Degree in Engineering, or similar technical discipline
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, with an interest in problem-solving and design 
  • Analytical skills
  • Report-writing skills
  • Good communicator
  • Interest in offshore and subsea operations

Technical Competencies and Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Applications
  • AutoCAD, d Modelling (e.g inventor)
  • Mathcad, or equivalent
