My client is an established Structural & Civil engineering firm with various offices in the UK. They are looking to appoint an experienced Structural Engineer with an interest in historical and listed buildings. The office is in Leicester city centre so is ideal for anyone in the midlands. The office is only small, but provides an excellent place to work being near Fosse Park, so very near the M1, bright modern offices with independent facilities.

They are a highly skilled company, dedicated to providing excellent service to all their customers. They don't cut corners and work hard to ensure each project is completed on time, and on budget.

The main purpose of this role is to undertake independent, although supported and supervised technical delivery of a wide range of projects including (but not limited to) Structural Surveys, Complex Calculation Design and Party Wall Works. They work in all sectors across the country and the practice has also grown into a new area of work in Conservation and Restoration which has brought many exciting and challenging projects to share across the practice. An experienced Engineer with limited experience in one of these sectors will be given all the training and support they need to succeed in the role.

The ideal candidate will be practical, diligent, technically capable, able to lead meetings and also discuss issues with clients. Excellent written and spoken English skills and the ability to write rational and accurate reports for a range of clients is another key skill this role will require.

They will need the confidence and hands on ability to take a leading role in a growing team in their Leicester office. Alongside their duties as an Engineer, they will be expected to supervise and inform the junior staff on their work and to mentor them in their careers.

Position Requirements include a Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering. Working knowledge of construction methods, materials and building regulations with the ability to perform Structural/Civil Design calculations. Willingness to work towards Chartership if not already achieved. The ability to develop relationships and work closely with other stakeholders of Insurance Surveys would be beneficial.
