- Undertake mechanical building services design for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems across a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential construction projects.
- Prepare design and calculations in adherence to industry standards such as CIBSE, BSRIA, BRE, ensuring consistent and precise technical design information.
- Develop specifications, reports, design drawings, and budget estimates in alignment with project schedules.
- Utilize thermal modeling software, such as IES-ve, for enhanced design processes (experience preferred).
- Oversee building services installations on-site, assessing workmanship and conducting witness testing of installations.
- Manage and supervise projects in collaboration with Directors/Group Leaders, coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
- Establish client brief, technical requirements, scope of works, and cost plans for projects.
- Determine project deliverables including reports, specifications, and drawings with Group Leaders.
- Collaborate with Group Leaders to define service levels and project design duties, ensuring alignment with fee structures.
- Assist in resource planning for engineering/CAD requirements within project scope.
- Execute engineering concept design through to detailed design, tendering, on-site supervision, and project completion, adhering to design briefs and deadlines.
- Coordinate with design teams to produce technically compliant and consistently high-quality designs.
- Conduct regular in-house design reviews and checks to maintain design integrity.
- Monitor project progress, manage design variations, and control project financial budgets.
- Foster strong client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and foster repeat business, aiming for a Customer Satisfaction rating of 100%.
- Proficient in mechanical building services design.
- Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines such as CIBSE, BSRIA, BRE.
- Ability to use thermal modeling software, preferably IES-ve.
- Experience in on-site supervision and installation monitoring.
- Strong project management and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
