Our team at JBT in Leicester is looking for a Quality Engineer to improve efficiency and provide their expertise on all things quality. You will help ensure the highest standards of quality throughout our organisation by developing and implementing quality management systems; living our value of continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of excellence.

As our Quality Engineer you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and guide process optimisation, reduce waste, and enhance operational productivity. To provide this ongoing support it’s essential for you to stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to quality management and continuous improvement.

This can be a challenging role when you’re leading changes and improvements but by instilling trust in your team members and setting clear expectations, you’ll gain their commitment and that team ethos to meet the end goal.

A day in the life of our Quality Engineer ...

  • Reporting into Mark our Purchasing Manager you will manage the Non-Conformance/Jira process
  • Monitor product quality and statistical analysis of collected data
  • Improve the reliability and maintainability of all products through root cause analysis and troubleshooting of outstanding issues (Jira or similar)
  • Improve the resolution of reliability and safety issues
  • Develop reliability and functional testing for new products
  • Develop reliability statistics from field feedback
  • Determine the causes of quality issues and develop corrective and preventive action plans
  • Manage product recalls
  • Visit customer that are experiencing quality issues to determine and manage open issues and resolution
  • Conduct supplier quality audits and manage supplier non-conformances
  • Implement process improvements, and follow-up to ensure sustainability
  • Audit compliance to the ISO 9001-2015 quality system

What we would like to see on your resume ...

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Management, Engineering, Business Administration) is required
  • Experience quality management, continuous improvement, or related roles from within Automotive, Manufacturing or Engineering
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools (e.g., ISO standards, Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and develop solutions
