Caledonian Building Services are partnered with an amazing fire safety business who are looking for a Lead fire alarm designer
Main Duties and Responsibilities: As the Lead Fire Alarm Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a small team of fire alarm design engineers.
- Reviewing client building packages to ensure adherence to fire safety regulations.
- Preparing comprehensive project documentation and plans for fire alarm systems.
- Conducting thorough quality verification to uphold stringent safety standards.
- Managing project documents and coordinating with internal teams for seamless execution.
- Providing weekly reports to the Deputy Project Director on project advancements.
- Developing and delivering system-wide operation and maintenance manuals for fire alarm systems.
- Producing high-quality documentation that complies with industry standards and is easily understandable for stakeholders.
- Collaborating with internal teams to understand project specifications and documentation requirements specific to fire alarm design.
- Supporting the development of efficient CAD processes across all fire alarm design engineers.
- Managing documentation, including revision control and file storage procedures, to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Creating and maintaining the information architecture for fire alarm system documents, facilitating precise and efficient distribution and tracking of electronic files.
- Checking and verifying documentation and designs completed by engineers with a lower SQEP level, in alignment with the designer capability statement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably with a focus on fire safety or related field.
- Proven experience in managing a team of fire alarm design engineers.
- Deep understanding of fire safety regulations and standards.
- Proficiency in CAD software and document management systems relevant to fire alarm design.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience in developing operation and maintenance manuals for fire alarm systems is advantageous.
