An opportunity has arisen for a Production Controller to join us at Express Engineering, an Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer based in the North East of England. With 50 years of experience in machining and assembling critical subsea components and systems, we are a market leader in the specialised products we produce.

The main duties of the Production Controller role will include:

• Releasing manufacturing works orders in line with MRP requirements and material availability.
• Monitoring internally manufactured & purchased parts flow via the ERP system and updating shared company documents to ensure that all relevant departments are fully informed on part status & availability.
• Creating, maintaining and sharing effective assembly schedules using Microsoft Excel.
• Attending and ultimately chairing regular planning meetings.
• Notifying the customer-facing team of any potential schedule impacts.

As with all positions, due to the nature and varying demands of our business, the responsibilities and tasks are not limited to this overview and may change to meet future demands.

To be successful in this role at Express Engineering, you will:

• Be very proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Be analytical with good problem-solving skills.
• Be meticulous and diligent.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Be a confident individual with a positive attitude, friendly and approachable and able to liaise with colleagues at all levels.
• Be proactive and highly organised, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Have experience in a production or supply chain environment. This position may also suit someone with no previous Production Control experience that currently works in a manufacturing, stores or logistics role and has a desire to further develop their skill set.
