Aspire Jobs are delighted to be working in partnership with our well established, Engineering client on an exclusive basis.  Having been in business for over 30 years they have an impressive forward order book and have substantial plans for growth.

They are now looking to recruit an experienced Production Planner to join their team.

Working with large composite structures and GRP mouldings, this is a great role for a self-starter, who can hit the ground running.    You will have great MRP experience and be able to hit the ground running.  You will be teaching the Managers and supervisors within Production how to use the ERP system.

This new role has been created to provide planning function to the production team at their largest site near Wareham. This is their Commercial Marine division and incorporates two main production facilities, plus their CNC machine Centre and their Paint Spray Centre.

Working alongside the Production Manager & Supervisors, this role will be responsible for planning duties for the team to ensure records, systems and orders are kept up to date to enable production to run smoothly and to delivery deadlines.  This position will report to the Operations Manager.

The successful Production Planner will:-

  • Have previous production planning experience
  • Have experience of using an ERP system
  • Be a strong and robust character as this can be quite a stressful role with lots of responsibility
  • Good communicator who is comfortable presenting to the CEO on a regular basis
  • Good IT skills including MS Excel
  • Understanding of planning within production and/or engineering or manufacturing
  • Ability to work to KPI's
  • Working in adherence with Health and Safety rules
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks
  • Good team player and excellent communicator.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain production planning using the ERP system 
  • Delivery of Production Plan to Management Team
  • Delivery of Capacity Plan to Management Team & Customers       
  • Delivery of KPI’s – including OTIF to Management Team & Customers       
  • Loading orders/changes & cancellations.
  • Overview of part Gross Profit % - reporting highs and lows in margin
  • Creation of Order Book Report via Progress.
  • Creation of confirmed delivery date / OTIF report via ERP system
  • Supporting month end activity – collation of data for Finance Team (invoicing & WIP)
  • Implementing or improving Production Planning & ERP processes and procedures.
