A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one of our surveying clients based in Manchester, they specialise in providing professional surveying & setting out services to earthworks & civils engineering projects. Professional Setting out Engineers with experience in several fields of construction including earthworks and large civil engineering projects. Machine control management. My client is skilled at working with the latest machine control technology to create accurate digital terrain models. 3D modelling for machine control delivering the highest level of machine guidance. Volume Calculations to provide precise measurements of the volume of materials on site. Topographical surveys combining the latest technology with our experience and expertise we provide detailed, high-quality surveys for a large range of clients. Earthworks surveys & volumetric surveys: to calculate the volume and value of earthworks, stockpiles and other materials.  Drone surveys to provide detailed photogrammetric data from locations that were previously remote or hazardous for personnel to access. Drawings/as-built surveys. JG Engineering is experienced in creating complex, comprehensive as-built surveys quickly and efficiently.

Due to continued expansion & a large influx of work they are now looking for experienced setting our engineer and land surveyor to join their team. The position will carry a competitive salary for a site engineer, and the accompanying package will be inclusive of either a company van you will be working nationwide.

Responsibility & Duties

• Setting out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis
• Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy
• Conducting pre-start site surveys
• Operating and promoting a high standard of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance
• Knowledge of site calibration checks

Expérience & Qualification

• At least 4 years of experience setting out and surveying within the civil engineering industry
• Be able to read and understand construction drawings.
• Proficient using survey software (ideally LSS) and be able to produce volumes
• Good understanding of AutoCAD LT
• Proficient in using a total station for surveying or setting out
• Proficient in using a GPS kit for surveying or setting out
• Proficient in using Dumpy Level
• Be able to set out profile boards and batter rails to assist with earthworks projects.
