Senior Mechanical Estimator Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join a Market Leading M&E Contractor that specializes in Commercial Offices, Banking, Data Centres, Life Sciences, Education and Government Building Sectors. The position will be office based in the clients Cambridge offices

The Role

• As the Senior Mechanical Estimator you will be required to produce accurate estimates of the material and labour costs for the Mechanical side of the project.
• Prepare accurate Mechanical estimates and tender documentation.
• The Mechanical Estimator will analyze the received quotes for mechanical material and labour costs and negotiate to achieve the ‘best value’
• You will be required to understand the estimating processes and utilize the data to work in an accurate, organized methodical way.
• You will be required to prepare “take offs” from the schematics and have an overall good understanding of M&E technical drawings.
• Create Mechanical Estimates / Quotations to potential customers, ensuring that the customer and business needs are met and the estimate is in line with the requirements
• Evaluate the technical Mechanical services requirements are met, estimating the costs, determining prices and margins of all Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Services (HVAC)
• The Mechanical Estimator will be able to evaluate bid opportunities and liaise with potential M&E Clients, working within the project deadlines and produce accurate mechanical estimates.

Qualifications & Skills required;

• Ideally hold either a Building Services Engineering / Mechanical qualification
• Worked previously in a similar position for over 5 years
• Excellent I.T Skills (Microsoft Word/Excel)
• Experience of using Amtech software
• Strong Communication & Negotiation skills
