Salary/Rate:
£55,000 - £65,000/annum

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director and their responsibilities will include:

• Liaising with clients to establish project requirements and attend site visits; • Analyse tenders, construction plans, specifications and other tender documents;

• Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers;

• Prepare quotations, tender and contract documents (including bills of quantities) for the Managing Director’s review and approval;

• Monitor progress on site;

• Monitor project costs and prepare monthly valuation reports; • Assess risks and implement risk mitigation strategies with support from Managing Director; • Manage variations and change orders;

• Ensure that contractual obligations are met and monitor progress against agreed-upon milestones during lifecycle of project;

• Assist with post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement. The ideal candidate will have:

• a degree in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying;

• Preferably 3+ years post qualification experience in groundworks/civil engineering/construction industry;

• A clean driving licence; •

Attention to detail;

• An excellent ability to measure from drawings and specification to compile quantities; • Excellent communication (written and oral), financial management, problem solving and negotiation skills;

• Good IT skills;

• Excellent work ethic; and

• Ability to work as part of a team and also on own initiative. This role will be based at our office in Fochabers but working from home will also be considered. An excellent salary package with benefits is available to the right candidate, commensurate with experience
