European Sales Manager - Instrumentation

An rare opportunity has arisen with our growing client who based who are based in rural Cambridgeshire and close to Royston. We are seeking an experienced sales professional with prior experience working within instrumentation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving company and play a pivotal role in developing and implementing sales strategies to promote the companies pioneering products and solutions. This is a full-time permanent position which includes regular travel overseas as necessary and primarily within Europe.

The role

Working as part of the Instrumentation team and the wider sales team the primary purpose of this position is to manage routes to market and deliver profitable growth. As a key member of the divisional sales team you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and support to the existing network of global partners. Whilst also evaluating the partnership from a business development perspective and ensuring that it continues to be a valuable partnership. Also to develop sales within smaller territories and supporting the needs of direct end users.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Driving sales for the instrumentation division within the assigned territory
  • Working as part of the high performing team, delivering exceptional service to customer both new and existing
  • Lead the search for and evaluation of, new business opportunities. Both direct sales and new product/ market development
  • Support the Global Sales Manager in producing, agreeing and implementing a divisional sales strategy
  • Keep abreast of competitor products and technologies with the marketplace
  • Providing product training and up to date advice to partners and distributors
  • Responsible for planning sales strategies , objectives and priorities. Communicating this to the team and colleagues as appropriate
  • Dealing with enquiries as a first point on contact, providing vital sales support during instrumentation sales and product development processes
  • Responsible for the comprehensive, accurate sue of HubSpot, Includes managing and monitoring the relevant sales pipeline
  • Contributing to sales and supporting documentation to ensure they are clear and accurate. Where necessary, researching and writing new content to fill any gaps
  • With the marketing team, helping to develop new content, events information, webinars and other items to help drive customer engagement and acquire new business
  • Proactively assist in other areas of the business where necessary
  • Be an instrumentation champion both internally and externally.
  • Creating in-depth sales reports detailing market activity, competitor activity and all other information gleaned from distributors business and future goals
  • Working closely with the Product Manager and acting as the voice of the customer
  • Create detailed quarterly sales reports each quarter
  • Working alongside the internal sales support network to help educate and train as necessary

The Person

Reporting to the Commercial Director and working closely with the sales team as a whole for this role we are seeking an someone who is looking an experienced sales professional within an instrumentation setting. Skills and attributes will include:

  • Ideally you will be educated to a degree level within a relevant engineering or scientific subject
  • An understanding of gas detection instrumentation and ideally an understanding of ATEX regulated equipment and protective systems
  • A proven high performing sales professional with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage and grow business
  • Outstanding people skills and networking capabilities
  • The ability to identify and gain new market sectors understanding the difference between weak and strong market sectors
  • Comfortable working within a targeted environment with the ability to strive for success
  • Strong industry knowledge and competitor understanding on relevant technologies
  • Have the ability to convey complex technical topics with simplicity both verbally and in written form
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Proven experience of delivering and preparing presentations at all levels in a variety of business forums

Details

This role is offered on a Full-time, permanent basis and ideally will be based out of the office. However due to the level of travel involved, an agreement could be made to facilitate a hybrid model.

The salary offered is depending on experience and offers commission and benefits .
