Service Engineer – Home based – Multiskilled - £40-45k + overtime + site uplift for overseas work + company vehicle/fuel card
Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced multi-skilled Service Engineer to join a client in the West Midlands to work on high-tech manufacturing equipment.
Key aspects of the Service Engineer role include –
- Ideally, the successful Service Engineer will have experience of working on furnaces, heat treatment equipment, melting, casting and bonding process and may have involved the installation, commissioning or servicing of furnaces
- Skilled in both mechanical and electrical disciplines and will ideally have worked in either a service capacity or a plant maintenance role
- Training & coaching available as well as the opportunity to work alongside seasoned Furnace Service Engineers so can learn from a team of experts
- Will be involved in service work and will also be involved with commissioning and installation duties
- This opportunity is home based so if you live in the UK and can work in the UK without sponsorship, it doesn’t matter where you’re based
- Role requires extensive UK site work and non-UK travel
- This is not a one plant maintenance position but will suit an individual with the range of skills of a strong multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer who is interested in a multi-site/travelling type role. The frequency and duration of visits will depend on work load and customer demand.
- Experience of working in medium to heavy industry will be advantageous. Candidates with good all-round engineering knowledge of working on high-tech equipment will be well suited to this opportunity
- The ideal profile will be a time-served Mechanical Engineer and have experience of electrical/software technologies such as PLCs and SCADA (Siemens, WinCC, InTouch, Wonderware). Candidates who are time-served electrically and have good mechanical knowledge could also be ideal for this opportunity
- Auto-enrolment pension – employee contributes 3% and employer contributes 5%
- Once 45 hours have been worked Mon-Fri (including travel time), overtime will be paid at x1.25 for hours worked Mon-Fri, x1.5 Saturdays and x2.0 on Sundays. The existing Service Engineers average 50-55 hours per week so there’s plenty of opportunity to increase your total earnings
