We are currently seeking a skilled Structural Designer to join our team in Aberdeen and contribute to the success of our projects.
 

Job Summary: 
As a Structural Designer, you will play a key role in the design and drafting of structural components for projects within the Oil and Gas & Energy sector. Collaborating closely with engineers and other design disciplines, you will produce detailed structural drawings and models to support project requirements. Your expertise will ensure that structural designs are accurate, efficient, and compliant with industry standards and client specifications.
 

Key Responsibilities:    
Structural Design and Drafting:

  • Develop detailed structural designs and drawings for offshore and onshore Oil and Gas facilities using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, etc ).
  • Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings of structural components, including platforms, modules, and supports, adhering to project requirements and standards.
  • Familiar with 3D Laser Scanning software such as point cloud data as a modelling environment.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with structural engineers, project engineers and project managers, and other design disciplines to integrate structural designs into overall project plans.
  • Coordinate with drafting teams and review structural drawings to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Mentor any junior or graduate designers within the team as and when required.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of structural drawings and models to verify compliance with design codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and reliability in structural designs

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare design documentation, including material take-offs, bill of materials (BOM), and technical specifications, in accordance with project requirements.
  • Provide regular progress updates and reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that structural designs comply with relevant regulatory requirements, codes, and standards, including those set by industry bodies and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualification/Certificate in Design or Engineering courses, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Structural Designer, preferably within the Oil and Gas sector or related industries.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of structural design principles, codes, and standards relevant to the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and quality in design work.

  • Promote the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Aspects of the management system.
  • Support the Company’s environmental stance by following all environmental procedures and policies and assist with the reduction of waste, energy usage and emissions.

Business Development:

  • To promote Texo Group where possible
  • To look and pass on opportunities, cross sell other divisions of the Texo Group where applicable and pass any opportunities to Business Development Team.
