Polytec are looking for a Quality Engineer on a 12-month fixed term basis for our client based in Ely.  There could be potential for the role to become permanent for the right person.

Responsibilities:

* Establish and maintain quality requirements with customers
* Resolve / correct quality issues.
* Ensure customer returns / reworks are dealt with appropriately
* Keep production staff aware of any Up Issues and documentation up to date
* Conduct supplier quality audits reporting findings promptly
* Develop and review processes and assess effectiveness in achieving product realisation
* Maintain a visible product traceability record system compatible with AS9100
* Assist with inspection of completed components using both CMM and manual methods
* Quality training for staff as required

Requirements:

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Use of measuring equipment including gauges, handheld equipment and CMM
* IT literate with good Microsoft Office skills
* Ability to liaise with manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues
* Work with suppliers to maintain and develop the quality of sub-contract product and services.
* Familiar with 8D problem solving and structured root cause analysis
* Able to develop work instructions and visual standards
* An understanding of the internal Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) system and MIE Trak
