2BM Recruitment Ltd have been appointed by a family run, long established business in the Sheffield area to recruit for their NDT team on a permanent contract for an NDT Technician with UT for forgings/wrought products.

The organisation, who offer in-house and on-site testing services to a varied customer base which include the Chemical, Oil and Gas, Aerospace, Medical, Nuclear and General Engineering industries, are looking for an NDT Technician that has experience of forgings/wrought products using Ultrasonic inspection (UT).

  • Starting salary of £35,000 per annum

  • Days only, working 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday

The Non-Destructive Testing Technician will be a motivated and enthusiastic team player that is also able to work without supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining equipment and calibration system
  • Inspecting and reporting
  • Defect sizing
  • On and off-site inspections for customers
  • Reading and understanding specifications/procedures/techniques.

We’re extremely keen to talk to qualified NDT people that have:

  • PCN Level 2 qualified in ultrasonic inspection (UT) of forgings/wrought products or ASNT Level 2 if you have documented hours as a minimum.
  • We would potentially welcome applicants where their PCN certification has lapsed relatively recently.
  • Visual (VT), Magnetic Particle (MPI/MT), and Liquid/Dye Penetrant (DPI) inspections are advantageous, but these are not essential.
