2BM Recruitment Ltd have been engaged by a leading worldwide steel manufacturer and heavy engineering client to recruit for an Electrical Maintenance Shift Technician / Engineer for their Sheffield based site on a permanent contract. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician / Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the heavy engineering plant and equipment. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Taking accountability for all electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and process control work, whether planned or breakdown, occurring on the plant.
  • Working hands-on with industrial plant and equipment, including 3-phase systems, to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.
  • Collaborating closely with Shift Engineers to prioritise workload and maximise plant priorities.
  • Jointly planning shifts to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Supporting preventive maintenance and continuous improvement activities to enhance plant performance.
  • Utilising the CMMS to streamline shift operations and documentation.
  • Conducting electrical installation work and participating in plant commissioning activities.
  • Mentoring and developing other employees, including apprentices, to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician / Engineer Maintenance Engineer / Fitter, you will be qualified to HNC level or be able to demonstrate significant electrical experience in heavy engineering, as well as:

  • Thrive in a demanding and challenging environment, with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
  • Show a keen awareness and understanding of heavy engineering processes.
  • Possess exceptional practical electrical skills, essential for hands-on maintenance tasks.
  • Excel in communication, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Demonstrate strong prioritisation skills, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
