Experienced CNC Setters required to work for large Engineering company based in Plymouth. Successful candidates will be required to set and operate both Fanuc controlled CNC and PLC Machinery. Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate machinery in any cell as directed by supervision.
  • Set and change tooling / jigs in accordance with production engineering and Company quality standards. Ensure tooling is fitted correctly and running in accordance with specification sheets.
  • Ensure machinery guarding is in place when machinery is operational.
  • Complete first-off’s and appropriate checks in compliance with Company quality and production engineering standards.
  • Carry out batch reworks as and when required.
  • Stamp product to verify conformance with the Company quality standards.
  • Load and unload components from machinery.
  • Communicate breakdowns or machine abnormalities to the Cell Leader, Senior Cell Leader or a member of the maintenance team.
  • Perform frequency gauge checks in accordance with the Company’s production engineering and quality procedures.
  • Complete daily/weekly machine setter operator checklist – coolants, oils and machine health and safety.
  • Read Engineering Drawings and adhere to SOP’s.
  • Use analogue and digital measuring equipment such as Verniers and Micrometres.
  • Report defects to cell leader, this includes scrap and RTS. Setter operator to report work order, part number and reason to the Cell Leader.
  • Undertake KPS activities as directed by the Cell Leader.
  • Dispose all consumable items in accordance with the Company’s ISO 14001 procedures.
  • Train operators or setters as and when required.
  • Perform TPM as and when required.
  • Completing all paperwork as set out above in a timely manner.
  • Good housekeeping of your area and adherence to Company H&S procedures at all times. Wear PPE at all times as per company guidelines.

Essential Experience and Candidate attributes required:

  • Recent, proven experience working as a CNC Setter / Operator within Engineering or Manufacturing.
  • Experience of reading Engineering drawings and using analogue & digital Verniers and Micrometers.
  • Excellent eye for detail.

Desirable Qualifications (Beneficial but not Essential):

  • A Mechanical Engineering qualification such as BTEC, HNC or HND.

The successful candidate must be able to work either a weekly alternating shift comprising of Monday to Friday 06:00am to 14:00pm and Monday to Friday 14:00pm to 22:00pm. The salary advertised is inclusive of 20% shift premium for Alternating shift.
