About The Role:

We are looking for a Design Validation Engineer to join our clients Test & Validation team.

Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning and Execution:
    • Develop comprehensive test plans and execute Design Validation testing to verify the performance and functionality of our electronic products. This includes defining test objectives, identifying test cases, and executing tests according to established procedures.
  • Technical Documentation:
    • Produce clear and concise technical reports documenting the test processes, methodologies, and procedures followed during validation. These reports will adhere to relevant standards and regulations, supporting product approval, certification, and compliance requirements.
  • Test Methodology Development:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance test methodologies and equipment, ensuring efficient and effective validation processes. Continuously improve testing procedures, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis:
    • Work closely with development teams to reproduce hardware issues and assist in debugging technical problems. Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and contribute to effective problem resolution.
  • Laboratory Management:
    • Maintain the laboratory and test equipment, ensuring proper calibration, functionality, and adherence to safety protocols. Proactively identify equipment needs, make recommendations for upgrades, and optimize resource utilization.
  • External Testing and Collaboration:
    • Liaise with external test houses when required to conduct specialized testing that cannot be performed in-house. Coordinate and oversee the testing process, ensuring accurate data collection and timely completion of testing activities. Occasional travel may be required.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the test process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality, reliability, and efficiency. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to design validation.

Required:

  • BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng degree in Electronics Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience with Environmental and Electrical testing processes, such as ISO16750, ISO 11452, and ISO 10605.
  • Solid understanding of Electronics and experience in testing electronic components or systems.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of bench test equipment, including Power Supplies, Digital Multimeters and Oscilloscopes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking ability, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with EMC and RF test plans and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
