An opportunity is now available to join a private, family- owned UK aerospace manufacturing group. Our client is looking to hire a CNC Miller to be based at their site in Bristol. This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week with an early finish on Fridays.

Established more than 80 years ago they have since merged with a second company to create a leading supplier of complex, machined components and assemblies for the aerospace industry. They have specialist capabilities including thread rolling, heat treatment and NDT with customers in civil, defence, production and aftermarket sectors.

As a CNC Miller your role involves the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC machines. Your expertise in machine setup and precision machining will ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet strict industry standards and specifications. You will work closely with engineers, and other manufacturing personnel to achieve efficient and accurate machining operations

Day shifts and double day (day/ afternoon) shifts available- please note that if you opt to work a double day shift you will receive a 25% shift allowance on top of your hourly pay rate. However, this is not mandatory.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Setting and operating of CNC machines.
  • Monitoring of OEE data including FourJaw
  • Working to close tolerances on a variety of materials to engineering drawings.
  • Directly involved in continuous improvement programs and quality control.

About You:

  • Previous experience in setting and operating CNC machines, including installing workpieces, fixtures, cutting tools, specifically Heidenhain & Fanuc Controls
  • Heidenhain Programming experience is essential
  • Ability to select and install appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for the machining process.
  • Must be self-motivated, shows initiative, has the ability to problem solve and work alone.
  • A sound working knowledge and understanding of machine tooling and proper tool usage is essential.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code).
