Source Solutions are proud to be working with a highly successful and continually growing global manufacturer within the electronics space, who operate cutting edge technology within a fascinating environment and a culture of continuous improvement, in identifying an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for an exciting area of the business.

This position will see the successful candidate play a key role in the company’s process of automated machine and robot design and development. The robots and machines that the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will design, are integral to the bespoke manufacture that the company are known for and thus will be directly involved in product success.

The automated machines are complex and involve various aspects including mechanical, electrical, software, hydraulics and pneumatics and so the Mechanical Design Engineer will need to work collaboratively with counterparts in the design and development process and ideally will have an appreciation for some of these other facets.

Candidate profile:

  • HNC/HND or higher in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Strong experience in mechanical design, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment - experience with designing automated equipment is highly desirable
  • Proven proficiency in CAD software, ideally PTC Creo
  • Experience in mathematical analysis, tolerance calculations and drawing standards such as BS8888
