Remote Estimator - Industrial and Logistics (Food Manufacturing Sector)

Position Overview:
As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role within the Commercial and Project teams, contributing to the successful delivery of projects within the Food Manufacturing sector. Your expertise in estimating, coupled with a deep understanding of industrial steel frame projects, will be instrumental in shaping project feasibility, costs and timelines. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure accurate and competitive estimates, ultimately supporting the realisation of your clients' visions.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Commercial and Project teams to evaluate project requirements, specifications and objectives.
• Conduct comprehensive cost estimations for industrial and logistics projects within the Food Manufacturing sector, considering all relevant factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
• Utilise advanced technologies, including VR, to visualise project scopes and facilitate accurate estimations.
• Analyse project plans, drawings, and specifications to identify potential risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain competitive quotations and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, and tender documents in accordance with client requirements and company standards.
• Collaborate with project teams to review and refine estimates throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and project goals.
• Support post-contract activities, including contract negotiations, value engineering exercises, and change order management.
• Foster strong and collaborative relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to drive project success and client satisfaction.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, with a focus on industrial and logistics projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in estimating for food manufacturing facilities and industrial steel frame projects.
• Strong proficiency in cost estimation methodologies, techniques, and software tools.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Familiarity with advanced technologies such as VR and their applications in construction estimation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and precision in estimating.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Willingness to travel when required site visits as required.
