We are working for a leading global Tier 1 Automotive supplier in their search for a Design Engineer.

You will be responsible for producing clear and accurate designs in line with product requirements and customer specifications. This will include design for the generation of new products and ensuring long term product safety and reliability with detailed involvement in the project validation and testing or products.
 

Salary of a Design Engineer

£30,000 - £40,000
 

Job Description of a Design Engineer

• Sets goals, priorities, and allocates accountabilities for product design and development.
• Lead technical reviews, keep and maintain tracking documents related to the delivery of products against customer gateways and timelines.
• Take ownership of project responsibilities, producing clear and accurate 2D/3D designs and BOMs in line with project specification, timeline, target cost and associated standards.
• Be fully competent with the company PLM system.
• Contribute to project review meetings as required, organising and chairing cross-functional design reviews.
• Be responsible for the relevant design and simulation activities allocated to a specific project.
   

Skills & experience of a Design Engineer

• A HND or Degree in an Engineering discipline 
• Experience in a similar Design Engineer role
• Experience of using 3D CAD ideally CREO (Other packages will still be considered)
• Originate from an engineering and/or manufacturing background with experience of modern manufacturing techniques and processes.
• Knowledge of designing complex assemblies.
• Knowledge and experience of the automotive industry is desirable. 
• Computer literate with a very good knowledge of MS-Office
