One of the UK's premier Facilities Management (FM) providers are now looking for a site based Technical Manager to lead the M&E service across the client's Stevenage facility.

The client are in the defence and aerospace sector, and this site is a collection of buildings consisting of offices and manufacturing facilities, home to an array of complex electrical infrastructure and HVAC systems. The site is critical to the client's UK operation and so the maintenance service must be of a high level, with great care taken of the Assets.

This role will see you leading the engineering team, while being the main point of contact for client queries for anything technical on the site, and so the role best suits a manager with a strong engineering background with sound communication skills

Actions will include:

  • Maintain a PPM schedule that meets contractual and legal obligations based on SFG20 Guidelines and Manufacturers recommendations
  • Support and advice Facilities Manager in the control of PPM activities.
  • Support and advice Facilities Manager in the management of remedial works
  • Quantify corrective actions 
  • Validate Quotes
  • Review Method Statements 
  • Manage and implement the Safe System of Works 
  • Training and assessment of Competent Persons and Site Responsible Persons
  • Support FMs in management of SSoW and RAMS.
  • Lead and motivate the engineering team to improve performance on customer service, communication, networking, common engineering standards, quality, safety and environmental issues to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory / corporate requirements and that documented procedures exist and are understood by all employees.
  • Lead the engineering team to deliver a safe, compliant, cost effective and responsive service
  • Working with the engineering team to provide an efficient / cost effective management of all Suppliers which includes; lifts, building management controls and fire systems
  • Maximise the utilisation of the Technical Services team through training and coaching in order to minimise plant downtime and reliance on sub contractors.

  • A clear, strong technical qualification, plus some time in a leadership role
