Alecto Recruitment is looking to hear from experienced Service Managers with a time served and proven tenure in the pump sector to join our client who can offer over 50 years' worth of experience in the pump and fluid circulation industry.

In a vital role for the organisation, you will apply your technical knowledge and experience in a role to affect real and genuine change across the business at all levels, from overseeing the Service team right up to liaising with Directors to agree business strategy and implement your plan to drive profitability and ensure cohesion across departments.

Role Profile

  • Varied and crucial role for the company, with objectives including but not limited to:
    • Management of field engineers.
    • Overseeing planned maintenance and reactive breakdown/emergency work.
    • Overseeing all scheduling including dividing work between inhouse engineers and sourcing subcontractors.
  • Prioritising commercial growth and ensuring cohesion between all service departments.
  • Creation and implementation of a strategy to create a centralised business function based from Wolverhampton HQ.
  • Implementing change management as per needs of the business and communicating effectively to achieve this.
  • Workshop technical support and supervision of works carried out in-house.
  • Overall responsibility for purchasing of pumps, parts and associated equipment for service jobs.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to all service department personnel.
  • Ensuring excellent quality standards through final inspection and pass off process.

Desired Applicant Profile

  • Proven technical track record at Manager level within the pump industry or related industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pumps and associated systems.
  • Excellent track record of people management, ability to manage expectations, communicate effectively with staff at all levels across the business to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong commercial awareness. Proven track record of driving profitability and ability to achieve growth objectives.
  • Must be based in the West Midlands area, this is a fully onsite position.
  • Manage own performance in terms of timekeeping, attendance, accuracy of work and quality and compliance of procedures.
  • Experience in change management.
