Design Engineer (Mechanical)

Our major client has plants locally and globally and are going through a period of unprecedented growth, with an order book at record levels.
As they are continuing to develop and release exciting new products and pursue high growth plans, they are looking for a Design Engineer to join their UK engineering design team.
Main duties
- To design components and systems for use on Material Handling products.
- To plan and manage the design of components and systems from concept to production release.
- Create models and drawings of components and systems for use on Material Handling machines using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- Carry out DFMEA, Risk Assessment, on new and changed designs.
- Take part in engineering problem solving activities including 8D and the use of other related methods.
Requirements
Whilst a relevant business/manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, candidates with a solid ONC, OND, A levels, City & Guilds Level 3, BTec Level3, NVQ level 3 in relevant subjects will also be considered alongside relevant experience.
For this position the candidate should be able to demonstrate some sound experience in a mechanical engineering design role from an industry such as off-highway, commercial vehicles, rail or other heavy industry.
